Brahmaputra Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, formed with an objective to work towards human resources development in Northeast India and thereby contribute towards the enrichment of the region and nation-building. Recognising the disparity that the region faces along with its vast untapped potential, we realise the urgent need for youth development and their empowerment. With this idea in mind, Brahmaputra Foundation is focusing primarily on two verticals, namely Talent Development and Skill Development. We are initially working in the fields of Music, Media and Film-Making.
THE NORTH EAST INDIA STORY
Majority of the people from the North eastern region of India lack exposure and are largely disconnected from the rest of the country. The region is usually known for all the wrong reasons like insurgency, ethnic conflicts and under-development. The eight states comprising of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura are not only rich in bioresources and landscapes showcasing unparalleled beauty, but also in terms of ethnic and cultural diversity.
Northeast India should not be treated as a faraway exotic entity but as an integral part of India. To bring about a change in this so called ‘mainstream’ mindset, we need to enhance and promote our human resources. Our foundation believes that continuous and dedicated focus on Talent and Skill Developmentis definitely going to bring the desired change.
